Sacred dragon art by Forealsister Designs, symbolizing the Cosmic Mother and creation energy

Why I Use Dragons in My Art

Why I Use Dragons in My Art

Before language, there was movement.

Before names, there was creation.

And before the world was shaped into what we now recognize, there was a force, vast, flowing, and alive. What many now call the Cosmic Mother.

When I use dragons in my art, I am not drawing creatures of myth. I am tracing the memory of that force.

Across time, she has been remembered in different forms. As the deep waters of Tiamat, as the sky-moving presence of the Chinese Dragon, as the feathered current of Quetzalcoatl.

Different names, different lands, same essence.

The dragon, to me, is not a beast.

It is motion, it is energy, it is creation itself moving through form.

The curve of the body, the spiral, the rise and fall, these are not random shapes. They reflect the way life expands, collapses, and renews itself again and again.

When I create sigils and symbols, I am working with that pattern.

Not to control it, but to align with it.

Not to define it, but to honor it.

Each piece I create is an offering.

A recognition of the Source.

A remembrance of the Mother.

A reflection of the power that has always existed, whether we choose to see it or not.

This is why I use dragons.

Not for fantasy.

But for truth, as I know and feel it.
